Freddie Bynum DFA'd
By Shawn
(6/22/2008) I know most people have
already heard this news, but in case you haven't Bynum has been designated for assignment as of today per MLBTradeRumors.com. In his place, the Orioles brought up Ryan Bukvich to take his place. Bynum didn't do too much for
the team with his paltry .192 BA and his defense was sometimes lacking, but he was a good bench player at times which leads
me in to what I will be mainly blogging about and that is possible trade rumors and player movement. We all
know that the bench can sometimes be lacking in offensive production, but given the right opportunities those on the bench
can be very productive in pinch hit roles. However, I know most fans would like to see more offensive firepower both
in the everyday lineup and on the bench which brings me to this question: If there was an opportunity to get a power hitter
from another team for relatively cheap in terms of players leaving would you do it? The reason I pose this question
to you is because there has been talk about Teixeria possibly being available from the Braves. I have not looked in
to this a whole lot because he becomes a free agent at the end of the year. However, I think that if he is available
the Orioles should make a push for him because for once in a long while the O's have a decent farm system. If there
are any other rumors out there circulating around, let me know and I will dig up as much as I can and will post what I can.
I will be blogging mainly about the rumors out there, but feel free to inform me about ones I have yet to hear or help me
out by blogging about them and I will try to extend on them as much as possible.
